An estimate based on your inputs. Fuel only: excludes vehicle wear, parking and tolls. Amounts are rounded to cents, so the individual shares may not add up exactly to the total.
How it works
Four inputs.
One clear result.
Fuel costs are calculated as distance ÷ 100 × fuel consumption × price per litre. We then divide the total cost by the number of people sharing it.
For example: 100 km at 6.5 litres per 100 km and €1.80 per litre costs a total of €11.70. Split between three people, that is €3.90 per person. Including the return trip doubles the distance and cost.

Sharing a car regularly?
FuelTogether keeps your refuelling and trips in a shared fuel account. For housemates, family and friends, right in your browser.
The fuel account records entries in litres or percentages. It does not automatically settle costs in euros.
Questions about splitting fuel costs
Does the driver count?
Yes, if they are contributing to the cost. Include everyone you want to split the fuel costs equally between.
How do I calculate a return trip?
Enter the one-way distance and select “Include the return trip”. If your distance already includes both directions, leave the box unchecked.
Does the calculator work for petrol and diesel?
Yes. Enter the appropriate consumption in litres per 100 km and your price per litre. The calculator does not fetch live fuel prices.
